What to use on canvas

Hi I have read on here before about cleaning canvas and can't find it
I have a 2006 jayco dove and all the canvas on the rig is dirty and grimy.
I have tried vinegar and water but this hasn't cleaned the canvas much at all, I rang a jayco dealer and they wanted too sell me a detergent to clean it, but I thought that there would be someone who has cleaned it before
