Don't live a life of going-to-do's and die with nothing done

It's strange that the kennel didn't get the animals out. We have an emergency contact for our dog if a Cyclone is heading our way, someone has to collect your animal for you.

lts very sad to see such a situation has happened . Fire is more unpredictable than cyclone as it speeds up & dosent really follow any patten . lt can be on so quickly
You can go your own way . Treg Up & Make Dust

Seems as though there was no fire evacuation plan in place for the boarded animals. Absolutely devastating for all involved.

What do you do though with 40 cats and 50 dogs? Maybe you could bundle them in the back of a car or something?

My alternative to cheap import trailers;

All my life, I thought air was free...until I bought a bag of chips

I think I saw on the news tonight that the owner of the Boarding Kennels is a CFS volunteer, and he was on his local truck fighting the fire elsewhere.

I think that a lot of people in the Adelaide Hills were very under-prepared for a bushfire.

We are lucky that no human lives have been lost so far.

Its a very sad thing to happen.

I have asked the kennels where I take my pets what there fire plan is.

They thought of ferrying the dogs and cats out in trailers but they decided that it would take to long.

They have a purpose built shed with sprinklers on the roof and all around.  They have numerous water tanks as well.  They decided that it was the fastest and safest way they could do it.

Luckily it hasn't had to be put to the test as yet and I hope it never does.

Life is a gift and too short to waste.

I am sure quite a few native animals met their demise in the fires too.
