Night time storage of kitchen?

This is inevitably a real newbie question, but I have to ask as I have not seen enough camper trailers to be able to devise an answer on my own...

Do most people with outdoor kitchens put them away entirely at night?  And if so, do you also put them away entirely during the day?

We have a Cub Camper and the kitchen slides out.  It is not entirely sealed to the inside.  The drawers are open to the space under the bed.  We have been putting it away every night to avoid any critter interest in our food, but I was wondering if the food was not the concern whether it is necessary - unhooking the water and gas, etc.

Thoughts?

for us it depends on the weather.

summer, autumn, spring time we tend  leave it opened. Winter we close it to try stop the draft and keep everyone a bit warmer.

Only prob we find is sometimes in a heavy dew, if you dont have you annex or marquee covering the kitchen, it may get damp / wet

Leaving it opened makes it easier to make that first cup o coffee in the morning without waking the kiddies

Our cub kitchen is always left open overnight if the annexe roof is up. If it is just an overnighter, then we close it  in case of rain or heavy dew.

Same for us when we had a Cub.

I usually put mine away for a couple of reasons:
1.  Leaving it open allows cold air to get in under the bed.  Not so much of a problem in summer, but if the nights are chilly its best to close things up
2.  On a camper I borrowed, the jets on the cooker started playing up.  Not sure if its related, but the owner suggested the damp air can cause pitting or blockage of the gas jets.

I figure its about 60 seconds out of my day to close it up.

We used to leave it open until we experienced bush rats. Now, if we suspect they are likely to be around, we close it. Might take a little time, however it can be worth the effort.

We always close it.
No cold air coming in and no little critters.

For us we leave ours open 95% of the time. In saying that we rarely camp when it's really cold and we also normally have the 2 annex walls around the kitchen up which stops any drew and rain problems.

We leave ours open. To put ours away it's more than sliding it in though. Clear bench tops, Disconnect stove fold and put it away, fold extensions, push crates back into trailer (it swings into the space where the food tubs live).

Always have the annexe roof up, and after a wet night a while ago we always put up the end wall to keep the rain out which also keeps the dew out. Now if it rains it doesn't get wet.

As for the drafts, the previous owners taped a thin foam mat over the bed base to keep the drafts out. Seems to work well, but means the inner access hatch can't be used.
