Personally I think your better off to learn without them than with them... they just get you into more ****.

You will become a better driver without needing any aids... If they *do* fail and your relying on them, your ****ed.

I've been everywhere in my GU without them that I went with GQ - which I only used twice just to test that they worked.

Thanks for your thoughts Lost. I am new to the site and to towing a camper but have had an MQ, GQ and GU over the last twenty or so years. I lived in the N.T. for a couple of postings and been a few places in between. That said I haven't had much exposure to lockers and am really looking to limit get stuck in a creek line etc with the family in the car and a trailer attached. I see the lockers as a fall back.

I think you have talked yourself into getting one........wise choice..

Even the times you normally wouldn't think of using one, when engaged, it lets the 4wd go slower and easier over/ through/around an obstacle..

If you can justify the cost, they are one of the best things you'll do to your 4wd ..

but it certainly makes life easier when towing up there IMHO, it's much easier driving offroad without a trailer in tow.

So true. There is no way I could have towed up the CREB with out the ARB Locker.

If you dont have a locker You don't know what your missing out on. Once you get one and use it you'll wonder why it took so long to get it in.
That is of course your never going to use it and just want it for bragging rights, then I'd spend my money elsewhere
Plus think of it as doing your bit for the environment and track preservation, as they allow you to crawl up big rocky rutted hills without bouncing and spinning your way up, and making it harder for the rest
