OTT Closure?

Hi guy's, while picking up some steel for a few camper mods, one of the workers at the steel joint said he had heard and read in a 4by magazine that as of next year (2015) the Old Telegraph Track will be permanently closed due to the amount of traffic and damaged being caused! I find this extremely hard to believe but was wondering if anyone else had heard of this?

No april fools...he was dead set serious quoting that he was going up this year in Sept because it would be the last tiime he could do it before it closes. I googled it when I got home and found someone else has mentioned it on 4x4 earth. Just wondering if there is any merit in it
