Quote from: cucinadioRight!!, after failing at another four ebay attempts (even with snipper), I'm sticking to "buy it now"  ::), I'm getting the feeling that something is a foot with ebay, never had this problem until recently...mmmm the mind boggles

Theres so many people out there with 3-6 accounts just bidding up items these days, and ebay couldnt give a Shit..  Specifically some of the Solar Panel companies.

Also never bid on anything with a hidden/private bids.. that just dribbles of scam.

Its to do with the fees.
its next to nothing if you start at 99cents or less.
if you start it at $500 like you want, then you pay up the ginger. So easier to bid it up....

Was watching some stuff last week, where there was 120 bids all up and 90 odd were from a low feedback bidder, all $5.00 ea bid... just creaping it up and up...

yea same here, it is what it is, but ebay will ultimately loos custom if they don't do something about it (albeit a long time from now)

no they wont, people will jump up and down, but nothing will change as Ebay makes more out of it.

Up to now, I have only bought a few items at auction, I've used AuctionStealer with success,  Now I usually hit the buy now button when buying off ebay.
I do my home work on the product, find out how much it's worth, make sure it is a Aussie store with good feedback.
Sometimes my local Spare parts bloke is cheaper than eBay.
As Lost mentioned, I bid, and forget it, IF i am the winning bid so be it, if not I haven't forced up the price by getting carried away.

You don't use magic to disappear, all you need is a 4wd & a Swag ;)

Yeah ebay needs to seriously increase its transparency.........bidders should be disclosed and so should linked accounts and seller disclosure requirements etc...........I would rather buy secondhand items off real people than some of the sh!t that is being spruiked there atm.
