After 7.5 years we have finally completed our around Australia trip and returned home to south Australia. Ok we got stuck in bloody Tasmania for 6.5 years and started our trip with a caravan and prado finished with a camper trailer and landcruiser but it's good to be home, maybe time to change our myswag name?

Not a bad effort that!  As for being stuck in Tassie for 6 years what a great place, but I would have to escape the winters there.

I'm guessing that you being in Tassie for 6.5 years was totally by choice?

Lets see now, in just over 50 years I have done Alice Springs, Tenant Creek, Katherine, Timber Creek, Kununurra, Wyndham, Kalumburu, Turkey Creek, Halls Creek, Fitzroy Crossing, Broome, Tanami Track (continuously) and the CSR.  I guess at this rate I had better live a very long life to see much more.

left Melbourne, 1st April 1997 ..... settled in Busselton WA, 28th December 2008

Used a Southern Cross camper trailer for all those years, only (major) problems encountered was a hole in the Toyota's sump and the campers spring 'slipper' area on the chassis wore away and had to be replaced due to the 'excessive' milage, however the canvas and zippers were still serviceable after all those years, and considering the camper at one time was setup at one place continiously for about 18 months, I'm sure that says heaps for the quality of the canvas used by Southern Cross Canvas.

We did a lap when I was a kid in about 6 - 8 weeks.  I'd reckon I've still got lots to see then.

5 months back in 1987 towing a 14 ft poptop with a Sigma wagon complete with wife and three kids - sounds diabolical but was actually fantastic!

I wonder what the poor people are doing?

About 36, though its more likely 37 years till I get around to doing it.

Its taken me long enough so far.
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....
