G'day,

I'm suposed to be picking my CT up from Brisbane around the 12th Jan onwards, but there is a chance I may not be able to get up there (trying to get time off work).

Does anyone have an idea on how much I would be looking at to get it shipped down by road from South Brisbane to either Geelong or Melbourne??

Ideally I wanted to pick it up so I could inspect it, see how it all sets up etc before bringing it home. I am a bit dubious about getting it shipped in case of any damage etc on the way or on being loaded or unloaded.

Who do I ring, general haulage firms like TOLL or LINFOX or car shippers or are there specialised transporters that regularly go up and down the East coast transporting caravans & trailers.Any advice would be appreciated.

Col,

As a cheeky last resort, there may other Brisbane based CT manufacturers that transport their CT's down to Melb, that may be willing to put yours on their truck for a fee???  I know my Camel came from Slacks Creek down to the Vic distributor (Everything 4WD in Cranbourne). Maybe give them a call (e4WD on here).

You'll never know if you don't ask.

I'm not so good with advice... can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

I would get in touch with the car freight people.  As a guide a mate had his transported from Adelaide to Roxby, about 600kms, for $300.

Good luck with it.

theres numerous threads on it, but make sure you have it insured PRIOR to pickup, and make sure the company have a good rep, mine turned up from Qld with rooted cover and more issues...

call some camper companies in Qld, like JT at trackabout, he does this Shit daily.

We had quotes that went from $600 ish to over $3000.00 to have ours transported from Brisbane to Cairns.
It defiinatly pays to get several quotes...
