Hawse Fairlead.? do you realy need one.?

OK,, Google came up with many views in many forums.. and none were positive one way or another..
Can you run Dyneema rope on a roller fairlead or do you really need a Hawse.?????
Darren i think said change to nylon rollers.? but same thing, is it a necessity..?

Yes, on new rollers without any burrs, as the rollers are constantly turning there is less friction, less friction equals less heat. Heat and UV are killers of rope.

I was told by some experienced users of synthetic rope that yes, old rollers have burrs on them that nick the strands, and that the square corners where your vertical and horizontal rollers meets can cause a pinch point on your rope, especially if your rollers dotn roll. For $45, i just got a billet hawse. TO protect a $300 bit of Kevlar, it seemed reasonable.
