Really what is it about lcool? You never really feel at home there. it's a nightmare to post pics so it's not as good for advice on mods etc and they are just over the top with rules. I always try to Play nice but Sure enough I forgot to put FS in the heading of my add in the classifieds section! I was so pendantic about getting the template right I missed this obvious one, so the answer ? remove my adds. I just can't be ..... it's easier to list em on fleabay.
Rant over makes me appreciate myswag all the more.

There are enough Toyota owners on here that most answers can be found by a simple question. I always have a bit of a look but it is way over the top, luckily the members and admin team here are much more down to earth

Its just an initiation for when he moves into the new place. Although an asphalting company told me the other day they were quoting some private work out that way for sealing up a road

ha ha you are a funny lot. If you put the polish on before you go out then it easily buffs off all grass stains from diff and bash plates & nothing sticks or scratches... surely everyone knows that ??? >:D

Question 2 - can anyone tell me on the 200, is there like an alarm that goes off when you leave it unattended on a dirt track? i.e. walk up to a lookout and out of sight and snakes, lizards, centipedes etc happen to be sensed nearby?

Many years ago I was on Overlander forum, but then over the years a couple of serial posters who could only be described as trolls ruined the place.
It's a shame because when I first joined it was a good forum and a wealth of information. Mind you I did visit a couple of months ago and in 6 months between visits they didn't even have 1 page of new posts.

I think I migrated from LCOOL to Landcruiserclub.net instead - OK, more of a UK bias, but there are quite a few Aussies there now, as well as some other nationalities. Some characters there that have started out as mates, but are now no longer...

I remember couple of years ago googling I found a thread on what I was looking for on Exploroz which I hadn't been there in 5+ yrs at the time - and I got a warning for putting WTF in the post when asking for the OP of the archived post if he found a solution...

I still follow LCOOL and still find lots of helpful info there, but agree the search function is crap. Worst site for rude users is Exploroz I think. Use to help with answering the occasional question but got sick of being critizied for only being a visitor! Have not been back. MySwag is still the best by a long way. Kevin

Yeah I think we are very lucky here, no arguments this is the best imho. Paj forum was good too friendly and well moderated and for a single brand forum very tolerant IMO. I remember when buying the Paj I posted same questions on Paj and prado forum and the prado thread got shut down pretty quick once the answers didn't go there way ;D

I'm on LCOOL still, and never had a problem. I admit that they can be a bit anal (no not that way), but they do try and keep the technical posts clear of garbage..

I'm a member on LCOOL, have found it to be an excellent technical forum.
As an Admin here, I admire their stance, there are no religious or political threads over there.
This forum was created when Brett and founding members found themselves disenchanted with the forums at the time. And there have been a couple of breakaways from this forum too, some with acrimony. So let us not criticise those others but continue to contribute and enjoy.

Its got some great info but nearly impossible to find it via there search function.
Some of them also seem quite "sensitive". Nissan at the best of times is a taboo word. Now with the y62 don't even consider a comparison of the 2. Apperantly they don't even compare, even though a 200 has a option of its own petrol V8.

Been on that forum for years, have hardly ever posted, go there sometimes to look at new posts.
Has been invaluable for me when I have needed to fix a few little problems with the 80 series.
Each forum has its purpose and I am more than happy to have LCOOL as one which is heavily moderated and I can ask a technical type question without getting all the off topic replies.

And as long as you only ask the question you are fine. When you try and answer the question is where you come unstuck in nazi utopia. If your answer does not exactly emulate that of the chosen few, you will be harassed for intruding in the realm of the gods, harangued for your ignorance, shouted down and otherwise threatened with dis-communication.
Even some verrrrry knowledgeable and hugely experienced toyota nerds now avoid the joint for these reasons. :angel:

I am rather boring I guess, I only got in trouble for putting Sth E Qld instead of Gold Coast.
It was chosen due to the fact that at that time we were looking at a move near Boona, but not good enough apparently

I like Lcool. Great resource without much fluff which is how I imagine they like it. Shame that some threads get ignored though. Not sure why.
