But hang on a sec. What was the track like before they got there? from at least one pic it looks like there was already erosion problems anyway. And yes a muddy track looks messy when you drive through it, but it's not necessarily making the situation any worse. If it is a regeneration area, then yes, they shouldn't even be there. But I think there is a bit of sensationalism going on in that story.

And no I don't advocate tearing up the bush or bush tracks for the fun of it, but a bit of honest reporting doesn't go astray.

It's not a track. It's a firebreak.

Doesn't matter what erosion was there, it isn't a track open to the public.

Nah it's a track

I've walked in that area (but not for a few years) and climbed the peak (Fredericks Peak) several times that you can see in the background, and as far as I know it is a track, just one that is closed to the public permanently regarding vehicle access

Good news for motorsport in NSW

Pheasant Wood Circuit to Reopen Wakefield Park Raceway
Goulburn, Australia - Goulburn MP Wendy Tuckerman, together with the CEO of the Goulburn-Mulwaree Region council Aaron Johansson and the Chamber of Commerce's Darrell Weekes, have been working tirelessly with the owners of Pheasant Wood Circuit to find a permanent solution to the closure of Wakefield Park Raceway.

After several months of discussions and community engagement, Pheasant Wood Circuit has collaborated closely with Stephen Whyte representing the current owners of Wakefield, the Benalla Auto Club. Whyte was totally committed to ensuring the new custodian of Wakefield Park was extremely sympathetic towards the local community and especially understanding of the issue of noise emanating from the circuit.

The acquisition of Wakefield Park Raceway by an established track operator in the region, such as Pheasant Wood Circuit will breathe new life into the raceway and provide a sustainable and commercially viable solution to the circuit, especially whilst addressing the noise concerns that led to its closure.

Wendy Tuckerman and Pheasant Wood Circuit's owner Steve Shelley have listened to the concerns of local residents and businesses to ensure that the rejuvenation and reopening of Wakefield Park Raceway will be done in a manner that is respectful and beneficial to the community.

"We are thrilled to have found a solution that will allow the reopening of Wakefield Park Raceway," said Wendy Tuckerman. "This is a win for the motorsport community, local businesses and the wider community."

The reopening of Wakefield Park Raceway is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the Goulburn region, with an increase in tourism and the creation of new job opportunities.

Pheasant Wood Circuit will soon commence the rejuvenation of Wakefield Park Raceway and looks forward to reopening the circuit in the coming months.

Sounds like somebody we need here! ;D

There are quite a few female 4wd channels springing up on youtube. Good to see, and good to see a lot just touring around, not ripping the ground to shreds as some others do.

Oh and the view is better too
We've swapped from the camper to a van yay! :)

I got to meet  Uncle Doug n his wife Miss Lizzie when I did the plumbing on their weekend retreat they built in the early 1990s in the Blue Mountains. It was a gorgeous sandstone property on a few acres. They were great people.
