had some wood from - um - one of the major hardware outlets - it was rich red in colour and it STANK!!! wit have been red gum? hope not if people here are burning it

we could put a crew together to help clean out your BIL's place of fallen timber if needed and drop some back at your place?

Unless you are cutting in Barmah. Then it closes on the 30th and reopens NEVER....

No thanks , not after reading that they could be full of asbestos dust from the trains brakes. Cutting them could be bad for your health even though I have burnt quite a few smashed ones when they replaced the Wodonga line.

went for a drive up around Barmah national park and there must have been 20+ cars/ute's with trainers coming out of the designated area full to the brim with wood.

While we were driving around the NSW side of the Murray some people had left behind pieces here and there so us being greenies tossed them in the back of the ute

Last ever weekend Barmah will be open so I suppose people are trying to make the most of it. Plus was a good day to be out cutting.

A couple of hours work yesterday, all logs were already fallen, just needed to be trimmed up. New sharpener worked a treat to keep cutting quickly

Went out yesterday to our block for some wood cutting and motorbike riding. Discovered a large tree had fallen across a track so set to work cutting it up. Going fine until the log rolled and caught my chain brake smashing it off and throwing the chain . Lost interest then , so winched the remaining section sideways onto the track and then the front tyre on the bike kept going flat     Spewing because I was supposed to be cutting wood for some old people that I supply so have to ring them today and put it off for a week.

I spent yesterday cutting wood, didnt have to go far as the owner of the vacant block next to my parents lets us cut dead fallen wood from his 5 acre block.
Still a 100ft pine tree to be cut up plus a few 30ft plus gums.

Just had the 9 & 1/4 power saw out in the back yard for a bit, chopping up old step treads and floor joists etc to a length that will fit in our fire place.
Sadly  we chucked a heap of good wood out at work this week, pulled down and old hardwood verandah and it all went in the skip bin
