Jet, mate, it must have hurt, but I couldn't help but laugh. You are always organised and know how to pull things out the correct way. lol. But then I thought, you just wanted some more time off work.;) You must post a picture of the damage.  I am sure if it isn't fixed by Darlington Point, we can all come up with a solution.lol

Just think it won't be much more than the cost of a new Engel or a set of tyre for the cruiser plus you still have the bonus of your good looks all the best troy

Ok ...

what a day...

My front left tooth snapped off with enough tooth left in the root system for them to do a root canal, so they scraped out all the nerve and  killed it all off ..installed an ally rod ..i think they call it a POST..

They then made a filling using a tooth shaped cup..it was pretty cool, after the post was inserted and the glue or whatever set, he used an ally primmer , then some other product, then mixed the filling stuff poured it into the tooth shaped cup (upside down of course) then pushed the cup onto the primed post, used some blue light thing to get it all to go off , then he ground the plastic cup off. normally a crown goes on your tooth , but he has made a tooth for the crown to fit to

then said that will do ya for today.. i think he was worried about getting paid LOL

so the next visit next Tuesday involves making a shaped filling for the right hand front tooth as that is salvageable with just a filling and also do a filling on the tooth to the side of the post tooth.

then he will grind down the post tooth filler to a pointy shape and do a mould or something for the cap to be made , he said I will have a temporary crown for 2-3 weeks till the real one is made ..then go back and have the temp removed and the real one glued on.

all in all I am looking at about $3500-$4000 worth of work.

He did say he is seeking a second opinion before the next sitting as to the life expectancy of the work he will carry out, as the only concern is that the filler tooth he built today will be the bond between the crown and the post so if it is not 100% the crown may fall off with the filler tooth inside it leaving me with the ally post..

other option is to rip them booth out and put screw in false ones 8-10K :'( :'( :'(

I told him I have a my swag meet coming up and I want to look my best so he squeezed me in .....

I know it,s not that great a smile  but he did a good start I think, he said he can improve my looks for me   ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think i have recovered well...

I know how you feel jetcrew.
I got the tooth next to the front tooth knocked out about 20 years ago.
The tooth's root was still left, so the dentist decided to drill a pin into the root and glue a false tooth to the pin $$$$$$
All good for about two years until the root decided to explode and my gum got infected.
So back to the dentist and pull out the root and he wanted to drill into jaw bone to put another pin in.
I said hold on cowboy you aint drilling anymore. I decided get a plate made and have had it since without any dramas.

Having belted myself in the head pulling nails with vice grips, pliers and the like before, I can say from experience that you need these:
http://www.excaliburtools.com.au/index.php/products/nail-piers/hl1121-510278a7682a3-detail

Does it like a dream, next to no effort even with massive nails, just put them on and rock it over the rounded bit.  I've pulled 4 inch nails out with only the head showing with them.  Took more than one easy movement, but you can give them a few taps with your palm and get even pull screws out if you really have a go when you don't realise that the thing you've grabbed is a screw and not a nail...

I bought mine after I had to pull up the masonite over the kitchen floor, some bugger had put staples in it every couple of mm and it was an absolute pain to pull them all with normal pliers.  Still took forever with the extractors but was much less effort.

All for one nail.....

Cheaper to go to bunnings and buy a whole box of nails.

Sorry... know how you feel , did a nasty with a stanley knife a few weeks ago.
