They're a little odd but seem to work for my son. They are standard on the bike.

Okay, I have never seen them or heard of them before.  ???

So I bought the SL-RS700 shifters from Shimano, knowing that it will work with the Ultegra derailleurs.
The manual stated that it works with handlebar grips up to an outer diameter to 32mm.
I thought that was the diameter of the handlebar, which is not the case.

Now my question is, is there an aftermarket bracket in 31.8mm for this?

Just make up a shim for them, that's what we used to do.  ;)

I've now swapped them out for some more traditional shallow drop bars in 38cm. The deep drop pista style bars were a little too deep in the end.

A shim is for when you have to make it smaller right?
In my case it needs to be bigger, from 22.2 to 31.8mm.
However I found another solution, maybe less elegant.
The bicycle accessory bar.

A shim is a thin and often tapered or wedged piece of material, used to fill small gaps or spaces between objects

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shim_(spacer)
if you used a 9.x mm spacer it would fill the gap

That's what I thought.
However as mentioned, I need to go from 22.2 to 31.8mm.
The handlebar is 31.8mm, the bracket is 22.2mm so it needs to go bigger, not filling the gap.

Only had three rides so far this year, due to rain and having twisted an ankle a moth ago but I'm doing the bike leg of the Bribie Tri tomorrow for the school kids. A world of hurt is waiting for me.  :'(

Nice bike.

I took my Scultura out for the first time today.
So much lighter and less effort.
There is some fine tuning to do with the shifting works.

A good interview with Daryl Perkins.  8)

Very interesting to hear about the angles and how it impacts the ride and steering...

Yes, they have a big impact and one that I was aware of when, I got my custom frames made.
