Hi all.

I'm back in the market for a stone guard for the Jayco pop top.

The stone stomper here in Adelaide has always been highly regarded but I'm not sure what else is out there that is highly thought of.

Has anyone got any other recommendations they could help me out with?

I bought a Stone stomper 2 years ago before our trip to Cape York and couldn't be happier with their help working out initial dimensions and quality of work. While they keep the rocks down, I also believe it helped reduce the dust recirculating back into the car.

Up the Cape I came across many homemade versions and around 60% of them were either broken or big holes in the mesh.

I did consider making a row of truck mud flaps on a bar connected to the Towbar, but I was put off by reading reviews of poor fuel consumption or heat problems under the car.

There's a big difference between kneeling down

I made one 10 years ago for the Coota, and it's still going strong. Laid it on top of the draw bar to keep it away from snags.

I've seen a few genuine versions that have been shredded by yonnies hammering them up against the draw bar.

Stone stompers are highly regarded, but his works for me, about 1/3 the cost of a stone stomper http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=28369.msg993651#msg993651

Stone stomper for me.  The good thing about the stomper is that it protects all the water, gas and electrical lines and fittings on the draw bar. Only takes one rock to cause grief. Only a recent acquisition . The rear spare wheel holder on the Paj has numerous small dents from rocks flying backwards from the normal stone gusrd.  . I,ve had others but this one is much much better...well worth the investment.
Having lots of friends on farcebook is the same as having lots of money in monopoly...means absolutely nothing!!

Another stone stomper user. I hate the mounting bar and keep threatening to make it mount direct to the kaymar rear bar? Keep in mind useless is serious  mud.
Here for a good time, not a long time!
