************* URGENT UPDATE ***************

I have a fresh message from IT. This forum will be permanently closed either this afternoon or tomorrow.

A real shame that, as I enjoyed this forum and so did many others.

The 4WD Action forum went down last weekend.
I was a bit disappointed as well, I had the Nisota build on there from when I first started building it.

left that forum years ago when Peter the mod there started changing my posts to read what he wanted them to say...another mod noticed he'd been changing other stuff also, Peter didn't care and told the other mod I'd be back, looks like he was wrong

Do we know why it closed?

I have some stuff there too.  I prefer Forums as I can always find things again, unlike social media.   Makes forums a great resource tool

Me too. He wasn't as smart as he thought he was.

I think they decided to close the forum for their own reasons.
The pity is I only started posting on forums to give people information and ideas to help them. When I started building my Nisota I could not find enough information without having to pay for some, which I thought, I did not want to do.
I know conversions are not everyone's cup of tea, but if you can get the right advice it can make it easier to do.
So the loss of a forum which had a lot of information on, is a loss to anyone who wanted to have ago themselves.

Seem to remember hearing something about the 4wd action magazine now going to an online mag only, maybe that had something to do with the forum shutting down or too many went over to facebook instead  of using the forum .

Have a look using archive.org to see what has been saved on there - it's a great example of when it's online, it's there for ever...

Lots of time goes into running a forum, and moderating it when its live... you nearly need someone on their live at all times.

also costs a LOT of money for bandwidth and storage.

Gone to a new home

It finally closed this morning. A great loss.  Very sad.

Weatherzone forum has announced it's closing down also....Fairfax media acquired a 75% of Weatherzone and appears this has something to do with it, maybe the same for other Caravan and Motorhome forum?

Yes they have announced it will close soon. You may be right, that is three forums gone in a few weeks.

The C&M Forum has been put back after a fashion by a couple of hard working die hard members and is up and running here:

Not a lot of members yet, but at least it's active.
It's a shame that the old site was taken down. There were several really detailed and fantastic caravan builds there that I used to refer to all the time.

Yeah it was me  My account apparently (sic) got hacked and they closed it. Never got to say goodbye  ;D as I wasn't able to register again. But speaking your mind as an Admin there to Pete didn't go down well.
