I am looking at fixing a solar panel to the roof bars, towards the rear of my Jayco Eagle .
Question I have, what is th Ebert way to run the wiring back into the camper, obviously keeping in mind, the roof is either flat or extended.

I have a Hawke Outback with solar on the roof.
2 panels on a frame, wires go to a junction box and twin core 6 mm wire runs down in to the kitchen and across to my batteries which are under a seat along with the solar controller

Can just see the black cable behind the curtain. It follows the wires for the roof lights

Thanks bc66, did you drill a hole through the roof, and what happens to the cable when you drop the roof down?

My van came with this installed.
Yes they drilled through the roof and the cable is in with the roof light cables and in the pleat in the curtains. It stays there and folds when the roof goes down

Wow , now I can see my roof needs a clean

Mine is basically identical ego BC66, the cable just folds in with the roof light cable. When I wind down the roof I stop about 400mm open and walk around and tuck in the canvas and check the wiring, it always seems to be in the right place.

I didn't bother running mine through the roof as I already had an Anderson plug under the camper for a portable panel so I just made up a cord that plugs underneath and into another Anderson on the roof panel which I plug in before winding up the roof.
