there are many farm clearance auctions I watch that I wish I was close by... I'd be interested to see how they go for price and how many go to them...
lots of Shit hot REAL old solid wood furniture and bikes, and chainsaws, and tools etc..
eg: http://www.martinevansauctions.com/
I went to a farm one recently that had everything from a caravan, cars, heavy machinery to nuts bolts and everything in between as you would expect when some poor bugger has passed away and they sell everything.
It was a crap day so I was hoping to grab a bargain, I wanted one of the smaller bulldozers. It was worth about 5 grand as it was a POS but would have been perfect for what I wanted it for.........it was handed in at 20k
They walked around each and every item auctioning them off as they do and people were paying $100's for boxes of rusted nuts and bolts and Shit I am sure they would regret when they get home and have good look at what they bought!
There was a straight line sthil whipper snipper I had my eye on.....sold for nearly $200!
Some of the old Plow blades were selling for silly money.......I wanted one to make a fire pit but I can buy a commercial fire pit cheaper.
We ended up walking after about 70% of the auction as it was painful.
I still go to them though......because every now and then you come across something worth while.
