Now 45deg is pretty steep, but it's a straight line, on a solid surface, with a safety cable. I think getting the approval to do it would have been far harder than actually driving it. Only guessing but I would imagine most modern real 4wds would be able to do it.

I'd say they drove it down.. Camera angles make it look a lot harder than it actually was.

Could you imagine the insurance payout if the Rover broke off 1/2 the front edge of the steps !!

Any one remember the natural sandstone steps used in driver training around the Holesworthy  Firing range, Granted no where near as high but about the same angle.. But in a soft top series 2 / 3 Landy on cleat treads,   Bloody scary .

If you look on the ground, there are two safety cables and then if you weren't 100% sure if that's what they are, they have "safety lines do not aid performance" at the end of the video

That's what I was thinking Low range 1 or 2 with good tyres & just walk it up, rather than speeding
