Shipping parcels/freight AUS to U.K.
« on: April 12, 2017, 07:02:22 AM »
Any member that are freight forwarders??

Where do I look for affordable options??

Have done a couple of online quotes but I'm assuming it air freight based on the price. I'm assuming by boat would be fairly cheap.

For that size parcels you will find the courier services your best option.  TNT, DHL one of those most have an economy or off peak service that is a little cheaper.  Sea freight can get surprisingly expensive when you look at all the packing/unpacking, delivery and port charges.

With those dimensions you'll be charged based on the volumetric weight.
Depending on how good a deal you can get you'll be charged the equivalent of around 50-60kg.
Can it be repackaged into something smaller?
Some carriers surcharge long items.

Quick online search came up with $500 minimum.

I bought a 4T 2 stage hydraulic jack on UK ebay. It would weigh around 8kg. Postage on it was around the $40 -50 mark.
Cant remember who it was sent with, but postage was reasonable I thought.
