Howdy all,

FNQ family here living down in SE QLD doing the camping thing whenever we can fit it in.

Growing up in Ayr and then spending 8 years in Weipa before coming down here has sort of spoiled me for fishing (salt water anyway) around here so thinking about selling the boat. Picked up a low kay 10 year old Pajero and Jimboomba CT a couple of years ago and have been exploring away from the coast. Borumba Deer Park, Peachtrees, Benarkin, Kilvivan and Sandy Creek have been great places to camp and going to try Bluff Creek next year.

Going to have to try some of the dams and creeks now as just picked up 2 kayaks that my son and I will fit out for fishing. Just found out my oldest boy in the Army is going up to Townsville for 2 years as part of his electronics tech course. He has friends up there and is keen on the fishing  ;D

Cheers
Mick

Welcome Mick,

Looks like you have the camping part covered, plenty of spots around for fishing off the kayaks.
Enjoy,

Rob
