Bring on Spring 2014
« on: July 26, 2014, 09:09:02 AM »
Don't know about anyone else, but here down south, the football's hit that month where it's a bit ho hum. (btw, in case anyone hasn't hird, James is back in town)
The night's are long dark, the weather's cold, wet and windy, the sun tries it's best to shine through the permanent layer of that grey stuff overhead and I'm starting to see the gravel and weeds at the base of the fire wood stack.

So, I think it's time for a call out to the season and calendar gods to - bring on the Finals and Racing Carnival, coz then it's time to drag the Trackabout out from storage.

Anyone else feeling it?

Maybe its time to have another MEL Swagger Sunday bbq?
(I'll leave that to somebody else to organise as I don't have enough facts to organise)

The big question is, are we expecting anymore frosts therefore do I prune my roses now?
I owe, I owe, it’s off to work I go…

Give me a couple of days and I will set something up. Lysterfield Lake for a Sunday BBQ catch up sounds good.

And yes, sick of this weather at the moment but most of the outside work is complete

)h yesssss!!!
We are so wanting to get away in the camper....... this weather is for ducks down here!!
Oh well, making the most of it atm,  ours is in dry-dock, getting a quicker travel annexe made up for our Trackie.
Even towing it to the canvas guys, made me regretful that we weren't going somewhere exciting with it.

And as for a Melb myswag catchup, as newbies we would be interested.......

It's already here.

The prunus and almond trees in the back yard are flowering already, winter never  really kicked in.

Spent a nice afternoon Whale spotting, 4 right whales and a minke (first seen for many years) spotted in the Derwent.

It's said when the first settlers arrived here that boats had to keep to the edge of the river due to the 100s of whales occupying the centre feeding and breaching.

A great day, we still need to get a boat!

If you are interested, and on FB, search for Whale Spotting Tasmania,  some great pics take over the past few days. Second pic from that site.

maybe not what you lot call Winter, but i read a mates blog who lives in Tassie the other week where he went for a drive in the snow, which sure as heck looks like Winter to me. I mean Winter here is all about putting a jumper on for one week of the year and having to take it off by 9.00 a.m as it's now to hot to wear it...that didn't look like just jumper wearing weather to me  ;) ;D ;D ;D
