For some reason I am not as sad about this. He lived a long life, got to do what he loved and earned a lot of money in the process and got the opportunity to lead a very comfy life.

jeez, that's a bit sad. Condolences to the family.
Spose he'll be catching up with Harry Firth then and all his buddies that didn't survive the crazy days of F1 in the 60's & 70's

Another aussie legend gone. RIP.
I waited in line to meet him and sign my copy of his autobiography some time ago. He signed the book with a personal message, then we chatted for a few minutes about his thoughts on F1 at the time. A very intelligent and insightful bloke,  and a brilliant engineer. What a life he had!

RIP Sir Jack.

A career that will never be matched.

Pioneered the rear engine formula car and was the first man to race the Indy 500 with a rear engine car.
The yanks laughed at him when he turned up, Sir Jack finished the race in the top 10.  The following year a rear engine car won and after that every Indy car was rear engined.
