A lot of importers now don't put compliance plates on the vehicles until they leave the holding yards.
Your January 2014 could have landed in Brisbane in January 2013. Port of Brisbane usually holds between 20,000 to 30,000 vehicles at any one time.

How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?  (Homer J Simpson).

You would think the Governments would be running buy back schemes to get the older vehicles off the road and replace with new rather then letting them go to waste

I don't get it why do they keep making more when they are not selling the others, at least have a massive mark down sale to get rid of some of them.

It helps explain, (but not mean it's fair), why our car industry is coming to an end.

Did you miss the last federal budget?

Talk like this and Abbot & Hockey will make us buy them and give it to the Fed Government as part of the belt tightening / doing your bit for the country.
BTW there will still be GST on it, and it won't be tax deducatble.

No I didn't miss it.  Can still be done to improve the economy.  Sometimes you need to look at the bigger picture

Sounds more like a socialist ideology, not a conservative strategy. Artificially stimulating an economy hasn't really worked so far has it?
