Boreen Point Campgrounds
« on: April 19, 2014, 06:23:35 PM »
Hi just wondering has anyone camped @ the Boreen Point Campgrounds on Qld's sunshine coast.
We are going up there for 3 days with our new camper trailer & heard some bad reports about the manager.

Cheers
Dave

Been there a couple of times and we're never worried by the management. It is a lovely spot (apart from the time we evacuated due to a nearby bushfire  :D), with plenty of activities available for all ages. Some epic goannas roam the camp and it seemed pretty quiet and family friendly.

The pub up the road does an amazing pig on the spit every Sunday I think...

We camped there last Easter. Great spot, great time. Although it did rain a fair bit!
We weren't even awar of the managers. Checked in, camped, enjoyed, checked out.

Great spot for water activities and kids. We took the tinnie on top of the camer trailer, towed the ski tube, kids loved it.

Another option is Elander Point. Checked it our yesterday. Although it is privately run and a lot more expensive. Looked alright and a family friendly place.

Hi Greg, Boreen Point looks great, my only concern is it looks very closed in with trees, do you have solar if not are there places in the park that a panel will work!!
Mainly for the 2 Waeco fridges,

Cheers

Is that a Gordie? Looked pretty closely at them but have gone with a Howling Moon, yet to arrive.

Here's the link to the  afore mentioned Boreen point http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=35775.50

FWIW Elanda point is pretty nice, but they are/were a bit strict on arrival times (fair cop its their place). So if your making a dash up from Brissie on a Friday night and hit a traffic snarl you might find yourself making a phone call to Boreen Point for Plan B

Interested to know where that information can be found. We did a search of the net and checked when we got there. We were told it was fine! Whoops :-[

Hi Dave, I don't have solar,..just ice in the esky which I top up from the shop.  On the day we arrived at Boreen Point it was abit rainy and windy.....so I was more interested in being in the trees for protection.....its not all shady though.....Lyn tells me she noticed people using solar here and there..so there are some open sunny spots ;D
If I were you though,..i would give the managers a call, im sure they will take good care of you.   Cheers Greg. :D
