Jet tent bunker XL
« on: April 19, 2014, 08:54:12 AM »
I'm looking at these ' jet tent bunker XL' from oztent ... similiar to a tent cot
Anyone got one of these for an opinion ?.
Trying to get a quick set up for when I take the buggy out camping , can't have all the luxurys but you do need a good nights sleep
The oztent product seems not to bad , these things are priced on close to $450 , so not cheap .

Pro's : quick set up , doesn't take up to much room , off the ground , easy if you are by yourself
Con's : could get stuffy in there ? , cost ,

cheers

HI rockman,
we have 4 of these (2x oztent versions and 2x oztrail versions)
(the kids got the oztrails.)

We absolutely love them, they are perfect for us, when we can't take the van and we go overnight or the longest we have done is 2 weeks in them (across the desert)

They are so quick to put up, and really comfy, we have put a self inflatable matress in the bottom of ours, which gives a really good night sleep.

The oztrails are of the same design, however they are a less quality, the zippers have started to play on them. However the oztent versions you can tell as such a superior quality.

P.S i don't find it stuffy at all (and i am not a small guy!).. I can even change in their, and i find if it's a hot night, i just leave the front flap open. (or you can even peg it out as it comes with the poles and ropes.

I have been looking at these. Was thinking if going the Std Bunker not the XL. I'm under 6" so the length isn't an issue. And is prefer the canvas to the poly fly. Think they will be great for a solo trip out to the beach or to the islands. (Moreton Straddie). Great to get off the ground also when out scrub too. Kulkyne have a pretty good price on them.

Just went away for the weekend with a mate who has one, and loves it. They are well built, and pretty quick to set up
