Does anyone own a Campers Delight trailer?
« on: April 16, 2014, 10:03:52 AM »
Hi,

I've begun the long process of researching camper trailers.  One that has caught my eye is Campers Delight, they are made here in Tassie and also in Vic but I haven't been able to find much about them outside their own site http://www.campersdelight.com.au/

I was wondering if there was anyone here has one and if so what are their experiences with them?

Thanks,

Fiona is a very nice person to deal with.  I got a tent from her to fit to my own trailer  . . . .

I have that tent up for sale now if you are interested.

The tent is well thought out with the little extras that show that they are thinking such as little flaps over the top openings to help keep them water tight plus clear windows so you can have the covers up to give you light but again still stay wateerproof.

Why not buy that tent, buy a kings trailer with off road springs, off road hitch and bolt it on. Drift kitchen.

Hi, I looked at them years ago when I was going through a similar exercise.
I am being a bit harsh here but its my honest opinion. I found them to be a bit dated in design, very basic, not very appealing to the eye and lacked features for the price. They are not too bad in build quality but once again very basic for the money.
The mechanic shop on the road to Mole Creek that does the rego checks builds the trailers for them if you ever wanted to have a sticky beak ;)
As for the tent, once again I am being brutally honest in saying that I persb=nally think there are far better designs in the imported market as far erection goes and for better money. (sorry pete)

In saying that, Tassie is limited for places to buy reasonable camper trailers at the right price so they have a market down here.

Personally I would keep an eye out for a good second hand unit even if its on the mainland. You should get a well made trailer with features, using an aussie tent for around the same price.

Thanks for your feedback guys, I will keep these things in mind.  I guess the next step for me is to go to Agfest where I can look at a few options in one place.
