Isn't camping what you want it to be, just like "fun".

I think its fun to jump off a tall structure with a rubber cord attached to my feet. SWMBO thinks its fun to ride horses. Hare to argue one isn't fun as it is a matter of perspective.

Real camping is also a matter of perspective. Each to their own.

But I think the aim is the same, escape.

My swmbo thinks the same, lucky I am hung like a horse.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

The sheep has no head or legs and has been flattened by a roller. It's definitely shagged:-)

Hi Guys....here's my take on camping....I think camping is simply this....having less labour saving devices/comfort than we would have at our disposal. At the end of the day though...it really is a state of mind, for instance my stepson considers any accommodation less then 4stars camping.    And me,..well any time ive got the roof top tent up is camping.....regardless of where I am.

Great forum folks......im in the process of researching CTs, and it looks like I may have found one that ticks my boxes. ;D

          Cheers Greg.

At the end of the day I like different "camping" depending on the situation. For me getting out in the swag, cooking with a hotplate over the open fire, having a couple of drinks with family & friends is the ultimate way that I enjoy "camping".
But when you have a wife that loves creature comforts 3 kids under 11 including a daughter under 3 its just easier and simpler to head off to a CP so they also enjoy themselves. During these "camps" I love having 240v in hot and cold wether to power the heater/aircon and have plenty of fridge space for beer, the kids meet plenty of friends and run themselves ragged sleep 12 hours a night and its all good.

My Boys love tent "camping" in the bush & I have now starting to get the lovely, thinking about free camping more which is great ( the myswag weekends we have been on have helped).

I'm just thankful I can get away and not be stuck doing "house chores" without the CP stays we would have been away about 2 weeks in the past 2 years but staying at CP we have been under canvas for close to 200 nights.

As previous posts, just get out away form home and spend quality time with friends & family. Its better than doing stuff around the house and going working!!
Swannie

PS when we CP at Port fairy over summer, there was what they thought were hard core campers jokingly giving me a hard time over my setup, ( glamper was the word that came to mind)  Surprisingly when it was 45 degree heat I had the so called "hardcores" enjoying a refreshing ale in my Swan while the aircon was doing its jobs nicely at around 21 degrees :)

Yep thats the one...fast and easy to set up and pull down. I was hopeing I wouldn't need to buy a trailer and the dmax would be enough fitted out with a roof top tent and awning.....but ive run out of room to carry all the camping stuff sigh.....so that's why im  thinking about a trailer......plus I like the freedom of my vechicle being separate to the campsite if I wish.   ;D
