Sorry, couldn't post up details before,I was too upset,
This started last week when we noticed a slight limp in Zaccy's walk, and being 12.5 years old we thought it was probably arthritis and so did the vet, by Friday there was no improvement with anti inflamatories, infact it was worse, so vet still thought arthritis so we got strong pain killers, but by this morning he was struggling to walk, holding his foot up in the air, so back to the vet early this morning, decision, take an xray and have a look at what might be there.
Xray showed a definite shadow around his leg 1/2 way between ankle and elbow, not good, so did chest xray as well, not conclusive if it has spread to chest and lungs.
So tomorrow he will have ct scan to determine just exactly if the cancer has spread, if it hasn't his right front leg can be amputated followed by chemotherapy, his life expectancy would be about 12 months.
If the cancer has spread, and it's a very aggresive form of cancer, Zaccy will only have a matter of weeks to live, there is no cure, all we will be able to do is give him the best pain killer drugs we can get and lots of love.
This sh1ts me, he is such a loving ,freindly, affectionate dog, he just loves everybody and thinks everybody loves him, and today is the anniversary of him having his ear bitten off by another dog,he just does not derserve the cards he's being dealt.
If he was a human, he would be described as öne of lifes gentlemen
Sorry if I'm rambling a bit
cheers Keith
