Hello,
What would you choose between? Either the ryobi 2000w for $799 or the Kipor 2000w for $998.
I like the fact they are sold at bunnings so if anything goes wrong you can return anywhere in Australia. Anyone have any feedback on these gen sets??

Andrew_C

Google kipor prices, find one cheaper, take your phone with the price to the green shed and 10% off the cheaper price. Did it with a 2.6 kipor and ended up with it for under a grand.
The local bunnings (Croydon vic) beat these guys prices http://www.kulkyne.com/au/Kipor-Generators without even questioning it. The bloke actually said there are even cheaper ones on line they have had to beat.

Mrs smith

Dose the Ryobi have a better warranty? besides that I'd check which has the highest
max output under load.

What he said....

We have a Honda EU20 in the CT for running everything and a Honda EU10 on the boat. (the one on the boat just runs the microwave and battery chargers)
I DON'T CARE HOW NICE THE HAND SOAP SMELLS.....

You should never walk out of the public toilets sniffing your fingers.

Sorry bud, but if also go solar. Unless you REALLY  need 240 don't bother. Just on the side note the 2.6 kipor are very heavy for what they are.

Yep. I have both, and the Honda stays in the shed.

8) 8) 8)

.....even when they are broken, solar panels can still do OK.
The panel I broke on the gulf trip is a goner (it went to the tip yesterday), but the first one I broke is still pushing out about 65%. It's still in use. Different breakage modes.....

Generators don't do very well at all, when they're broken....... ;D ;D ;D

Having said all the above, there is ONE place we go where the genny is good.....very shady, all day, and no way around it......but not worth carrying it everywhere.

When the Power supply stops, any solar input is cut too!

I thought houses had batteries with their solar (Admitting here never looked into Solar for house due to costs) ... I'd have expected it to work like UPS

Around here we can have outages in summer for 3+ hours around milking time on hot days seems to fry the grid or something.  I think we had about 3 or 4 outages over winter this year all out for more than an hour. I guess it just depends where you are and what has caused it or who is fixing it

Hhhmm sounds like the micro I've been looking for !!! What brand and power please!

Its a little one called a Tippen or something like that.

The Regal boat people fit them to their boats, at least, they did when ours was new back in 2006.

Check out Hash Converters for a cheap microwave, i bought one a few years ago for our office for about $25.00 i think. It was most likely sold to them by someone who didn't own it, but it worked for me.

Not the cheapness it's the power rating ! 1 kva won't run the one I have ! So yours must be a small powered one
