30 years ago my father and I purchased a pool table.
8 by 4, Italian slate, English cloth, a piece or art.
And bloody expensive for a 20 year old just earning a crust. I only paid about a 3rd.
The old man looked after it, still has the original cloth in good condition. Some marks on the mahogany(teeth marks from a niece years ago).
Parties,BBQ's, birthdays and Christmas. It was well used. I used to play a backyard snooker comp using this table and 7 other home tables. Some of those were an experience.
In the last month I renovated down stairs. Paint, tiles, the lot.
2 weeks ago, over a beer or 2 I asked the old man if he had finished with the pool table yet.
A bit of a grumble and mumble was the reply.
The next day he rings and says I can have it.
The move was done today. In and leveled by 11am.
I get home from work at 3 to find eldest daughter has 4 friends over playing pool.
I did mention something about a sixpack as entry, but none of them are 18 yet.
Soon though.
Hey ,I want a turn. Not a hope.
By the time it gets to my go I won't be able to see straifgt. I can't now.
What to do?
