so you put the small divider in there like the example, its not like they are banning them.

it was only matter of time, I've been blinded 203948230948 times by pricks with them that feel you need to know they have LED light bars at night..
Same with HID headlights.

Struggle to see the point of a small divider    No matter what spot lights or LED's are up front, they are never supposed to be seen by anyone oncoming when operating, so why bother with a petty rule like putting a 2 inch divider in a LED lightbar?

FWIW, I don't have a LED lightbar or HID lights, and agree about wankfactors using these in built up areas

Note the bit about "Driving lamps must be at the front of the vehicle". There goes your roof mounted lights...

And there's nothing new about the regs. They're the same as they've allways been. It's just a notice to say,
"Hey, if you want to fit a light bar it must still comply with the existing regs. And just to show we're really good guys, if you put this little divider in we'll let you get away with one bar"

does this make bikes with twin headlights ilegal too dont know if anyone has 600 mm between the spot lights as per regs

Consider when the Regulations were written there may not have been any lights the dimensions of a light bar that could be attached to a vehicle.  Easier to modify the lights then it is to change a Regulation, that the law makers not the law enforcers.   The Regs seem to be the same for NSW

Pretty rare for a 4wd to just a single spottie, generally in pairs or more

Single spoties are and allways have been illegal. They should allways be mounted in pairs.

I prefer the 2xspots but most of the shops I have been in sell mostly as 1 of each to a pack.

Thats the rules. but one of the rules they dont enforce.
Its funny since Hella (and others)sell them in 1 of each sets, and have for 30yrs....

Really can't see what the fuss is about, the ADR hasn't changed in years.  Everyone knows the rules, no one is forcing you to break them.

Roofrack mounted lights would only be illegal if wired in to operate with high beam, by my reading of the regulations. If questioned, the owner would refer to them as work place illumination lights, specifically mounted away from the front of the vehicle so as to not be confused as driving lights.

On a recent trip through central QLD I came across some vehicles with incredible lights, blinding up close. I didn't have a problem with them, unless they were thoughtless and didn't dip until too close. The law states one must dip high beam when within 200m of oncoming vehicles, and this might also be a victim of technology, as 200m seems too close with some lights.

Personally, I dip my high beams as soon as possible when I see an oncoming vehicle.

I'm with you, I dip as soon as possible.
Now what about those that come from behind that leave these on so as to cast a shadow of your vehicle in front of your own vehicle with your own spotties on.
