It's an Adamo seat, nothing goes numb with these but do take a little to get used to.  ;)

I did a bit of online shopping at Chain Reaction today. I bought the missus some thermal 3/4 bib nix that were on special, so she'd stop complaining it was cold when we go riding. I needed to spend an extra $20 to get free shipping. I couldn't find anything else I really needed, so I spent $200 on some RaceFace Next carbon bars :)

My new addiction is carbon  8)

Should have let me know, I need a new bottom bracket! Got a shopping list but at the moment the items are spread over about 4 online stores and so far none qualify for free shipping.

I bought one of my grand daughters a new Redline BMX from Chain Reaction two weeks ago , left Belfast UK on Monday morning May 29th arrived in Cairns Friday morning June 2nd delivered to me up in Herberton ( 100km west of Cairns ) monday morning June 5th.

She raced it on Tuesday June 6th only 9 days after buying the bike from them , gotta be happy with that .

I paid $493.99 ( freight free ) for this bike and was Quoted $1060.00 from our local bike shop , but they could not supply until late this year.

The local bike shop sells the old school 80's classics at time to time.

They have a PK Ripper with landing gear forks, skyway tuffs, redline flight cranks and some other cool stuff.

$1200. It's something us older blokes would mount on the wall next to the crappy print the wife got from her last trip to IKEA.

I dreamt of owning one back then.

SE have done a good job of releasing retro models for all us old guys. (did you hear that Perry "PK" Kramer is now back working for them as a sales manager (after years at Giant USA)

I keep looking at this with lustful eyes... http://www.sebikes.com/bikes/cat/retro-series/str-29-quadangle

I was lucky enough to own a PK Ripper back in the early 80's and always dreamt of owning a Quad. Now I could own one in 29" that I could actually ride...

Quickest delivery I've had from CRC is ordered on Sunday night and on my door step on Friday morning. You have to keep an eye on the stuff you want as they sometimes have really cheap prices. There was a pair of fiveten's the other day for the missus that were $50 off, but by the time I asked her size etc. they were back up at the normal price.

That's fantastic! I don't think I could ride a lefty. I'd keep looking down at the fork thinking half has fallen off :)

I had a modified Lefty (custom clamps) on my fatbike a few years back. It definitely took some getting used to. Mentally I mean... You're riding... you look down and you feel an almost automatic reaction to turn a little left.

But you get over it in a ride or two...

It's amazing how we can adapt to new gear. When I first rode my fixie it was really strange, then hopping back on other bikes was a bit wierd. Now I've ridden it enough that hopping between bikes doesn't take any thought process, it's just normal for each different bike.

The Lefty is pretty amazing - I have been riding Cannondale since 2000 so am used to the goodness of the Headshok - no flex and smoooooth as butter. But the Lefty is something else again. It's pretty much perfect as far as the combination of stiffness and travel goes.

The only issue with the Lefty is that it's really hard to ride no-hands (my son finds the same thing). Not that you do that offroad, but when tooling along on hard surfaces sometimes you want a rest, or to just mess around - and while you *can* ride it no-hands it sort of feels like what I imagine riding a unicycle would feel like... or maybe a Harley, you're compensating all the time :)
