I've been reading this thread since the day my hubby said "lets take leave and drive around Australia". All the great info and opinions helped us make decisions on what we wanted or needed in a camper trailer and places to visit on our trip. So it's time to say hello properly.

We finally bought a second hand TruBlu camper from family friends who had used it 3 times on short journeys. Probably a bit more flash than we were looking for (as we are basic campers) but couldn't say no to the bargain it was. The weather has not been kind to us this winter, sunny during the week but most weekends with rain so we haven't had a chance to get out in it yet (apart from bogging it and the old commodore in the back yard after a particularly wet week!). After much investigation hubby decided on a 2003 Patrol 3ltr diesel with low kms. We have had it looked over by a local 4x4 specialist who tells us it is in great shape. First thing he did when he got it home was get the CT out of the bog!

So now the time has come to pack the trailer and the kid and set off on our journey through central Aust, Kimberley, West coast and South coast before heading home. Panic hasn't set in yet but I do need to get a move on or we won't be going anywhere!!

Thanks for the welcome. Not sure how many pics there will be, we always forget to take them - too busy just enjoying the moment. We have 3 months before we have to be home. Hoping to take all that time but will come home earlier if we get sick of living in such a small space together!! So home for Christmas and start of school for the little one next year. Thanks to some posts I've read here, I've been able to tether my mobile to the netbook for internet when it's available so I can still check this site for info as we go. I have found it so good to read what everyone else does and have a few laughs on the way.
