Hello,
I've been reading MySwag for a month or two, and have found it to be extremely addictive.  We are a family of 5 with two boys (10 & 8) and a girl (3).  We have had a Cavalier camper for about 8 years, which is mainly used as a 7x4 trailer for the house reno's, with the odd camping trip here and there - mainly in the CQ region.

I discovered MySwag while researching the recent purchase of our 2006 Jayco Hawk OB.  We've been out in it a couple of times already and find it very comfortable for us, at the moment.  We have a 3 week trip to NQ coming up in September/October so we are preparing the camper for that.

We currently drive an Outlander (7-seat, 6-cyl) which may need to be "upgraded" in the near future.

Cheers,
John

I work at that smelter, Kiwipete. It's called Boyne smelters. Plenty of kiwi expats from invercargill. I know it's out there but your families surname wouldn't be Smith by any chance. They had a family affair turn up at the smelter about 10 years ago

Cheers Shaun

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.  We've just spent 4 days at 1770 where we were able to work out a bit of list of the things to streamline for future trips.

Mods so far:
  * Replaced all external handles, side lights, 240v inlet and outlet, numberplate light, porch light - these were all sun damaged;
  * Installed twin 240v GPO and 12v lighter plug in rear seat near battery isolation switch;
  * Moved gas bottle forward, removed jerry can holder and added storage box on drawbar;
  * Added 2 * 100mm pvc tubes behind storage box;
  * Replaced awning bags on each end - old ones were brittle from sun exposure.

To do list (in the next few weeks):
  * Install external gas bayonet/s for the weber;
  * Buy new battery (AGM 100A/hr);
  * Add jerry can holder, or two, to the rear bar(?) - the tank on the Outlander is too small;
  * Install a ctek panel mount comfort connection indicator in the rear storage compartment to allow easy charging at home.

A couple of tips:
Tip #1: always put down the stabilizer legs, even at home, especially when you have a beer on the table and the battery/setek compartment open;
Tip #2: keep it under cover, even if it is just a tarp. See the pictures below of a couple of the things I have replaced due to sun damage.
