Pirate_Pete

I am looking for information on building my own camper trailer.

I need a dual purpose trailer for carrying around my 2 kayaks

I am looking at building my own 7 X 4 box trailer with at least a 1900mm long draw bar with kayak racks on the top for normal use.

Then I am looking to build another box to fit in the trailer with a Campers Delight tent on top of that will slide into the trailer.

Looking forward to others ideas & input.

And yes again Mike I have already read that post.

For the benefit of the others I built the kayak in the pic above using ply & epoxy using the stitch & glue method. I am also thinking of using the same method to make the " box" for the tent to fit on.

I,m looking to do my kitchen the same using 6mm ply

Pirate_Pete

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :)

One thing I have read is that most people use shackle springs not slipper so I have already changed my ideas there.

I think I will still use a normal 50mm ball coupling as I also tow a 5.3m power boat & don't want to keep swapping couplings, plus I intend to mainly drive on the black stuff & won't be doing any serious 4wding as I will be using a Kia Sorento as my tow vehicle.

I like the look of the "Drifta" style kitchens but I think I will need a lift up lid to use as a splash back to protect the tent side when we use the annex

Manjimike

That is the style I am looking at too, Pete, probably with a piano hinged cover to protect the canvas
