Belboop

Hi all, was sent here by an unamed person from another forum, who said there seemed to be more younger families over here and that it might be a better fit for me.  So I'll introduce myself, my patner and I are in our early 30's with a 2 year old daughter.  We have always loved camping and continue to do so.

At the moment, we have an execellently Australian made camper trailer, which we have built an extra room onto thanks to our local canvas guy.  We have had many great trips in it.  We are now however looking to upgrade, either to a Jayco Swan or a Coromal Silhouette - if anyone here has an advice on either that they would like to share that would be great (although it's starting to seem like a similair ford v's holden argument!).

Looking forward to popping over here more often, getting some great advice, maybe gathering some friends along the way too.

Welcome to myswag Belboop, I wonder who that person was who suggested you join myswag :)

There are some great Jaycos here and also a few Goldstreams, check out some of the build threads.
I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go...

Nar, old farts here Belboop...but young old farts  ;D

Like D4D wrote, "Jaycos here and also a few Goldstreams". So pull up a pew, grab a few, & before you know it, you'll be an expert without even laying eyes on a jayco there's so much info here :)

Such a warm welcome, thanks guys.

Gee I wonder who did send me here though, hmmm?!

We so love our camper trailer, we have had many good times in it and it will be sad to see it go if we do take the plunge.  So much to think about, selling the camper, looking for a campervan, prices, seeming a little overwhelming at the moment, but already starting to gather lots of great info here!

Welcome to Myswag.

I'm probably in the old fart category, but my partner Sally always disagrees with me.

We have just been through what you are going through.  Just sold our CT and we pick up our Goldstream in a few weeks.  We started out looking at Jayco's.

cheers,

David and sally

Its better that you decide for yourself what suites you rather than what other people maybe screaming at you to be or do. What you may think fits you in the clique is not necessarily whats going to make you happy, be yourself, not what someone else thinks you should be. As for fitting in? you already fit in, you have a love for camping and travel, too easy. Age is irrelevant status is irrelevant and what your shacked up in on wheels is also irrelevant, what is relevant is that your out there enjoying every moment of your life.

;D

I think his comment had a large element of sarcasm but you are correct. Your comments are almost biblical, I like....... ;D ;D ;D

Loving it here already!  Everyone seems very down to earth and honest which is always nice.  So, plenty of Jaycos, alright then, who has a Swan and what do you LOVE about it and what are the little things that erk you?

welcome and enjoy. for my 2c worth, we discarded the idea of the coromal because the insides were really quite old fashioned compared to the jayco, and that was the boss's choice. didn't like the caravan yard either..

honestly, if money had been no object, we'd have bought the goldstream - even though they are a bit olde worlde inside as well

I am waiting for my Swan to arrive. Had a look at the coromal but found the biggest problem with all coromals either van or trailer is you have to bend down to get through the doorway. Bloody expensive to IMHO.

G'day & Welcome.

Apart from the banter, you'll certainly pick up some good advice on here, and I'd suggest you'll find a bunch of new friends if you manage to hook with some other swaggers down your way, or elsewhere in OZ.
