These days the game seems to focus on what tactics to use against an individual player rather than the full state of play.
Why go for a risky run with a chance of a run out, early in an innings, in test cricket?
But then, I've never played test cricket!

cameron white is another shaun marsh... had multiple chances and choked on every one...

plenty of players getting good results over multiple shield seasons to pick from.  selectors just need to have the balls to do it and give them more than one innings of a test match to prove themselves.  rod marsh needs to go. 

bowlers need to get back to how lillee used to train.  run 10klms every day.  none of this concentrating on gym/strength work and resting policy.   get out there and bowl and bowl and bowl.

if we also got back to having different pitches in different states, we might have some better swing and spin bowlers to pick from, instead of the batting paradises that we have now...
