Gidday guys
Been a lurker recently during the tranisition from an old rear-fold, soft floor camper trailer, back to a tent for a while (old camper is now a chunky box trailer) to a new Jayco Hawk OB. (Yep, another Jayco ..)
Picking up the Hawk in Jan (it's ready now, but can't get to the Gold coast to get it till then..).  Next will be upgrading the 10 year old Slowlux....
Myself, better half & two young fellla's (8&10) are keen campers and up here is paradise for camping & 4wding!
We are working towards our 3-4 month tour of part Oz term 4 next year, or early/mid 2012
Look forward to starting the mods on the Hawk, as I have kept it pretty stock  (bed ends & roof rack) - there's plenty of good ideas here.

Cheers

Welcome to MySwag and good to see more Cairns people join up.....I too have just ordered a Jayco Hawk Outback which will take delivery in less than 2 weeks. I too got the best price through Gold Coast but worked on Townsville who match with a little extra for freight. Again, welcome......

G'day & Welcome.

With all the members in Cairns, it would be great to meet as many as possible when we all form up in advance of the Cape trip.

Tell us about your experiences up north there, tips, secret spots etc.

Welcome Mark, as Teabag said with all the new members we should be able to have a good FNQ forum meet, but it will have to be somewhere easy to get to, with all the Jayco owners we now have up here. >:D

Paul and Bern

 for all the welcomes guys - WA, Vic, SA & all the FNQer's. Looks like we may need a cattle station west of here to have an FNQ meet to fit everyone on!!
Gotta collect the Jayco 'glamper' first next month, but not camping in this current bloody heat - 10-30pm & 28deg ,apparent temp (i.e feels like) 34deg & 86% hunidity! ??? Sit in pool, coldie in hand - what else can ya do?   Nutto

Hi Nutto,  well the nearest cattle station that would be great would be Woodleigh Station other side of Ravenshoe that would possibly be able to hold big meet. We just came back from there, I have posted memories on "Calling all Trackabout owners" Thread this forum for excitement reading. Has creek frontage, massive area to hold the Woodstock of Campertrailers, softfloor and Jayco,s alike.  Reasonable Fees as well.  Cheers Rellbell
