Excuse my absence on the forum for the last few weeks. I realise much has happened during this time and I've been reading this post with a lot of interest!

As most of you are aware, I work on behalf of CTEK in Australia in a PR capacity. The purpose of contacting members of the forum is to acknowledge CTEK's loyal supporters and to thank them for their ongoing support.

This may turn out to be a lesson for other businesses. Try and do something proactive and reward your customers quietly and the mob will call you a scam then plaster it across the forum for a week, then when they finally work out its not all tell you how good you are in the hope of something free. Good on you cteck, its a shame it went so badly for you.

I' am sure they have no problem finding people to give free stuff to.

You get this alot in current world of internet. I don't think it's the best way to approach people from a business perspective, especially with no previous posts on the forum or an easy and visible attachment to the business being represented previously.

The OP asked if it was a scam, from all appearances, you would think so, until you dug further and saw there were others that have received and been involved in the process. This thread has helped to highlight the position of Emma and her relationship. I'm sure being a PR representative she can handle a little concern over the legitimacy of the offer in a public forum.
