We took the Fleetwood yesterday for a traditional Sunday Drive.
Left TCB, through Gympie and then the Bruce to Brisbane. Over the Gateway and out to the BP truck stop at Larapinta.
Stuff me sideways, fuel was 152.9 a litre....
Met up with some members of the Cadillac Club and then headed out west a little.
We pulled up for lunch in downtown Fernvale.
We had 7 Cadillac's in total, but the highlight was an unrestored 1927 Cadillac LaSalle. What a car.
Originally sold to the Walker Family of Maryborough at Royal Show (Ekka) in Bris in 1927, it was a 21st birthday gift for their daughter.
(Yes, the Walker had money)
In 2017, Walkers Limited was inducted into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame. Walkers Limited is regarded as being one of Queensland's greatest companies spanning 150 years in the engineering manufacturing sector.
Now, back to the car....
Not a perfect 100 point car, and it has had a paint job during its live, but in really good condition and a stunning grand old car.
303 cubic inch/90 degree V8 and it was a torque monster too.
Cable brakes.
After lunch, the others all headed for Brisbane again while we went via Wivenhoe Dam, Esk, Kilcoy, Beerwah, and then the highway home.
In total, a 622 KLM run and I tell ya, damn comfortable too.
I'll whack some pics up later.
Oh, and some knob jockey P plater in a WRX Scooby Doo was picking a race with me on the way home too...
I declined .
Plus, I would've lost, no fun in that.
