Hmm, I don't recall reading in that article it mentioned students with Learning Difficulties.

Look harder.  Try reading about creating structured learning environments and all that entails, as well as problems with temperature regulation.

If you still don't believe me, I'll put you in touch with my two sons, who can describe to you how they learn better in cooler temps here in north/central QLD.

And the point is that learning is better when students are cooler.

That doesn't make them soft, contrary to popular and outdated opinion.

Mate, We've spoken before about the difficulties your guys deal with, regarding your kids.
I get that, but the article was about schools kids in general.

I was also under the impression that every class room, has Air-conditioning these days.

Anyway, it's Friday arvo.
Hope ya beer is cold.

Yea, and your point was that kids are soft because they dare try to get aircon, even though it is scientifically proven to enhance learning for all kids.

Take my experience out of the equation, and the 'soft' comment is still so out of touch it isn't funny.

No beer for me.

No, it wasn't about air con,
The article was about Gobal Warming, that is what the kids were bitchin about, the world is getting to hot for them.

I stand by my comment,
There a lot of Kids today that are too soft, self entitled brats.

maybe it is getting too hot for them?

some kids are entitled, no doubt.  but, i don't think it's a crime to want to be cooler/warmer in school and at home, if possible.

Well if you'd posted a link to an article, that isn't paywalled, instead of a clickbait screen grab, your point may have been clearer.

Must be a slow day in the "I need something to be outraged about" department..

There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.

as a humorous aside to this thread...

when we landed in Yarralin in January 2024... the principal told us that in summer and build up, if the teachers try to put the air con on to bring the temp down below 31 degrees... the local kids will start putting jumpers on.

we naturally laughed and dismissed it.  (fact: the kids do exactly that)

and here I am, 20 months later, putting a blanket over myself when working in the mornings because it's *only* 28 degrees...

Hi,
   Old story......

Hot December day for exams, no air con. Sweat runs from his face and smears the ink on his exam paper. He draws arrows labelled sweat, pointing out the drops and hands in his paper.
Some days later his paper is returned, with more arrows, but pointing to red smears on his paper, labelled tears.

Cheers

I've used a link from the ABC, not for any other reason, other than it's not behind a paywall.
There is a lot of information about it, depending on what news outlet you choose to take information, will depend on their agenda.
"Proposed Great Koala National Park boundary stops mid north coast timber logging"
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-09-07/great-koala-national-park-to-go-ahead-on-nsw-mid-north-coast/105743430
As President of the Grafton 4wd Club, along with a couple of other members, We will be attending a Meeting organised by the 4WD Association of NSW & ACT in Coff Harbour on the 25th of this month to find out what this mean for all users of lands within the boundary of this "Park".

As I understand it in a press lease from the NSW Government, they have allocated $40m to help timber workers effected to find another job.
$60m to set this up and to LOCK IT UP, with plans to extent it to the Qld boarder.

As a RFS volunteer, at our last brigade meeting this was discussed. As we understand it, the RFS will be relied on to attend fires in these areas. Many RFS members are either employed directly in the timber industry or are reliant on what the timber industry proves to communities.

Our 4wd, has over the past 30 years have cleared and kept open tracks, roads.
As a RFS member, we struggle atm to get a CAT1 and other appliances down State Forest roads to fight fires.
The consensus is, Locking these areas up will only cause bigger fires, cause more wild life lost.

After this meeting, I will post back, after I digest the information that will be presented.

Caravan owners in Clarence Valley fight eviction from council-run sites
Sorry I didn't see this earlier.
There is a Sh1t fight going on with how the council acted.
I believe the NSW Local Government Minister is now investigating.
I have, written to the Local Goverment Minister, not only about this, but other issues, and I'm not alone.

Bit of action next to our camp yesterday. Interesting watching 5 cop cars roll in, including 3 tactical response units and box them in and strap their hands up.
