Hi All, I bought a second hand 45lt fridge and in the top 10lt freezer today I payed $200 its a cheap Chinese one, I have it in my 6x6m shed working it must be at lest 42 degrees in there today and its going great, The rezone I bought a cheap one is I wanted to know if it was going to be big enough for my mob when traveling and if the upright setup would suit us, In stead of buying a new 60lt upright Engal and finding out its not what we wanted, Later down the track if it works well will buy a bigger brand name one, Craig
Hi all, I pulled the back of the fridge off to check it out, there was a few things in the back of the fridge that had a lot of movement like the motor and a couple of pipes were rubbing on things so from how my 100lt trailblazer pipes and motor are lagged and with no moment, I just used sika between them, the motor is so quiet and not moving now, Craig
When I first moved out of my parents house I bought a bar fridge/freezer about that size for a hundred bucks. That thing served me for over 5 years, and would have gone for longer if I hadn't moved to the USA. Was an awesome fridge, if I turned it up too much it could freeze everything in it.
Hi Hookie, Sounds your fridge was a little ripper, This fridge is just cheap one will see how it goes, I like it as it just has a dial on the thermostat and not some digital display that I see all the time on my mates fridges stuffing up once dust and corrugations get to them, If it does the job will keep it for a while, if it not big enough will upgrade to a 80lt upright, Craig
When my Mother in law passed away we got her bar fridge which has to be 10-12 years old and still going fine. Every year a group of Mum's do a week in a Caravan Park with the kids, so my Wife takes the bar fridge and works a treat.
I'm aware of increase of theft in Caravan parks especially over school holidays, so if anything was to go missing I would prefer it be the Bar Fridge instead of my 2 Engels seeing it's just setting in full view in the annex.
Hopefully, it serves you well. If you did want to "upgrade" you can get the little digital temperature controllers cheap on eBay for $10-20 and they only take a few mins to hook up.
Yes we got one to they work great, When I go up to Inskip we only use a couple of old 60 to 90lt gas fridges that are worth buggerall for that same reason. Craig
Yeah if I get a few trips out of it will be great, No I like the old control knob type 1 to 7 like on the trailblazer freezer pretty, Craig
