Read an interesting article today on the internet from last year so it must be true.
The Ford Mazda alliance is coming to an end and 2019 will see the release of a new 4wd model spawned between a Mazda and Isuzu marriage. In return for access to Isuzu technology, Mazda will design and manufacture rated recovery points for both models.

That maybe makes some sense of something I was told from person involved with Ford dealership. That was sometime in the near future the Ford Rangers will have an Isuzu engine..

Seems strange that Ford and Mazda wont be sharing since Ford owns Mazda, doesnt make sense to me.

ford never 'owned' mazda (in the traditional sense)... it had a 33% controlling interest in 1996...
in 2015, it sold it's remaining shares in mazda...
