ITEM: Frilled Neck Lizard Sculpture
CONDITION: Has just been made by my little bro :)
PRICE AND PRICE CONDITIONS: $9K neg - pick up only or buyer pays for freight
EXTRA INFO: Due to its unusual looks and behaviour the frilled-neck lizard is one of the most popular lizard species in Australia.
"Lilly" ticks all the boxes in revealing Queensland's unique lifestyle, culture, and creativity. Weighing in at approximately 2.3 tonne, Lily is 5m in length, 2.5m wide and 1.3m in height from her front claws to the top of her frill. Boasting a diameter of 1.35m, Lilly's frill can be manually moved by hand to a 45 degree angle on each side to give you a variety of profiles. Lilly's stance and open frill mimics the lizard's reaction when they feel threatened, to keep the predators away and alternatively, during courtship. Aligning with the physiological features of the lizard, the hundreds of steel rail way links used to build Lilly's entire body denotes the scales which act to reduce the loss of water. This unique garden feature will definitely have people stopped in their tracks.
If you know of any shire councils, sporting clubs etc who might be keen to purchase it, please feel free to pass on my details.

Than you for the idea but have emailed them already - this was their reply:
Hi Jill,
Thank you so much for thinking of us , this truly is a wonderful sculpture! We actually have our own in house sculptors that do most of the work at the Zoo. Unfortunately at this stage, we are unable to house the Frill Neck Lizard although we will certainly keep you details on file though as we do sometimes have projects that we also outsource. Please pass on to Sam how impressed we are with his work, he is an extremely talented man.
Thanks again and we hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
I guess that's a "no" then... Pity ... they would have been perfect for such a rare and rugged thing..

Once he (and his partner) gets settled into their new home in Rockhampton and get a bit of a stash of old materials together he is going to start doing custom orders again...
Been meaning to comment here, you should try this development here on the GC, they are using some similar items for their parkscapes
The development http://thesurrounds.villawoodproperties.com.au/ (http://thesurrounds.villawoodproperties.com.au/)
Have a look at images 19-21 here https://www.realestate.com.au/project/the-surrounds-helensvale-600013022 (https://www.realestate.com.au/project/the-surrounds-helensvale-600013022) of similar items they have already used.
