Hi guys,
So, how long is too long to leave water in the tank? What does everyone do? Empty it? Tablets? Milton?
Going camping this weekend and havnt used the camper in 3 months...
Cheers,
Leave it and top it up before each trip
lol, mine was full over 4 years ago when i dropped it off for the engine conversion, got it back a few months ago, still used it a few weeks ago hunting. Think you'll be right.
We add 10ml of water purifier we bought when we got the inline filter, 10ml per 80 litre tank is supposed to be good for 12 months, never empty the tanks out.
Just top it up with Mains water, There's enough Chlorine in mains water to kill almost anything.....Maybe people too.

We clean ours every 15 to 20 years. Most water tanks have the outlet about 75mm above the bottom so you can get a fair bit of sediment in there before they need cleaning. Don't just pick on us country folk plenty of people in the city have rain water tanks.
Leave the water in and top up the day before we leave.
I just flushed mine on the weekend actually. probly doesn't even need that but it's been sitting for a couple years.
Filled it, drained it, filled it again. good to go. Just ran the pump while I was at it to flush the lines.
agree with the country house tank water analogy. I never did anything with my house tanks for the 10 years we were on tanks save for installing a post pump filter.
The tanks at home (rural- rain water) go down, we don't flush them. They fill with rain, we keep drinking it.
Just make sure the daylight can't get at the water.

??? how do you do that?
Black tank, or plastic tank inside a fully enclosed cavity specifically constructed to house the tank.
Black lines from tank to pump and taps.
