I like to have an occasional beer.
3 - 4 years ago my kids decided I should build a new shed to keep their toys in. Demolished a few things and built them a 12x8.
We had an ice bucket thingo at the back door and started throwing my bottle tops in it.
Times have changed. I am now retired and since the first shed have built a shed at the new house, verandah at the old house, verandah at the new house, and still like having a beer.
have a guess at how many bottle tops I have thrown in the ice bucket during this time.
No prizes, just the satisfaction of being closest.
Will give it a week and then count them.
i recon 4286
I would think 1,052 + a few headaches

Who said he started off as one ?? :D ;D
I'll guess 6700.
I think you'll be surprised at just how many there are. Me and the neighbours regularly have a beer or two at the back fence on a Sunday, and we also threw the caps into a bucket. One of the kids decided to count them one day, and we were shocked (and a little proud) at the number.
Not wanting to be irresponsible drinkers, we knocked up this Perspex box, and put a mark for every thousand so we could keep track of consumption ;D

Hope that helps with the guessing game ;D

I like to consider the positive side of things - for every bottle top I got a 10c refund on the recycle for the bottle.

Why don't more states do that?
Great idea. :cup:
Lets say 3.5 years = 1277 days
Being an average aussie male @ 12 stubbies a day on average
= 15,324 tops.

No less than that.
Went to the doctor a few years ago and he recommended no more than 2 beers a day, got a second opinion and he also said 2 beers a day, so checked again and the third doctor also said 2 beers a day. So I have since limited my drinking to all 3 recommendations - no more than 6 a day.
Some where around 5000 is my guess
CHEERS GRC

Some VERY rough calculations and ill take 3750
7326 I reckon
6896.5
9,796.
Spada,
You may have to do a recount on yours as I noticed that some of the tops aren't from "Real Beers"
500... cause I reckon you'll get pissed off counting them by then and converting that to how much it cost you to buy the slabs... LOL
5738
6387 3.5 years average 5 beers per day
8795 is my wild guess.
7856
Cheers Glen
We do something similar with our left over coins. Then every couple of years we take then to the local bank that has a ATM coin counter. Last time we had 2958 coins totalling about $900. They were heavy.
Final count was 3715. Green rv was the closest.
Best result from all this is to show my wife what everyone guessed. Most were way over so I can now tell her that I am drinking way under everyones expectations.
Will try to lift my game for next year.
Were they counted under supervision of an auditor :)
