For those that carry a chainsaw this could be a very handy accesory to have instead of a fixed winch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW5lLs6IqpY (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW5lLs6IqpY)
Can you adapt a normal chainsaw to use it? Looks like its a permanent fixture to the chainsaw?
(And I wouldn't want to be standing there if that cable snapped)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zr05f7H4uqc (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zr05f7H4uqc) comes as a kit for saws from what I can see ...
Looks cute, but it does not take 7000lb pulling power to turn over an empty 1.5 tonne van. Two hefty guys and plaited Telecom rope would handle that.
I would have serious doubts on connecting it to a stuck or bogged vehicle without a remote control unit fitted to my chainsaw.
Maybe an adaptor that converts a winch to a wood cutter would be a better option.

How cool is that!
The company I work for sells a Honda powered petrol Portable winch http://www.portablewinch.com/ (http://www.portablewinch.com/) it is a capstan winch though so a little different.
these small petrol winches only have a max single line pull of 1ton so not the best for pulling cars out of a bog.

That is still one tonne ( 2240 pounds ) at the drum pulling power, using a single line and 2000 kg ( 4480 pounds ) using a double line .
Electric winches are rated at the drum so if you are three layers deep on your winch pull the pulling power is quite a bit less than the rated winch pulling power

exactly what I was thinking also whilst watching that
This my extra winch that I take when we go extreme. 8hp reduction drive Honda driving a LandRover Capstan for which I have 110m of 19mm Samson Tenex-tec Rope. Lots of pulling power.
