Hi there, any tips on a beautiful seaside camping spot somewhere between Kempsey and Batemans Bay? And what about at Batemans Bay itself? Can be either a park or free camp. Thanks heaps for any great tips.
Try Merry Beach - around 20mins north of Batemans Bay ;D
If you happen to find any free campsites at or near the beach, please post it up as I'm sure we all would like to know ?
No problem - I will!

Hungry Gate campground is nice, but it's $20 + a night and 20 min walk to beach.
If someone wants to pay, there are lots of nice NP camps along the route !
Along the east coast of NSW, you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer NP than Crowdy Bay....either Diamond Head or nearby Kylies.
Diamond Head in the National Park is fantastic. 30 minutes south or Port Macquarie
If your looking for a quiet place to swim, fish, lay around, eat and if your outside school holidays, look at staying a few days at:

Turnoff is about 20kms north of Ulladulla

Another vote for Crowdy Bay,Kylies Beach is quieter the Diamond Head.
Treachery camp just south of Seal rocks is also nice.
Pebbly Beach, around 25 minutes north of Batemans Bay.
Near Merry Beach - Nth Batemans Bay, is Pretty Beach (http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/camping-and-accommodation/campgrounds/Pretty-Beach-campground-Murramarang-National-Park)
Nothing wrong with Merry Beach - clean and right on a protected beach, but basically your typical CP style/look, and that's ok ;) Pretty beach is a 'bush' layout if you're more inclined, still with the features of a CP, short stroll to the beach, and plenty of bush walks if you're keen.
For free/bush camping, you'd need to go more inland. If you're having a leisurely trip, and don't mind an hour + drive into the bush, I'll post up a couple of places for you
