The other half and I have been at this 1 for some time now.
How do you pronounce Biddaddaba? It's a district north of Canungra, sth east QLD.
I say it as this way
Bid - dad - da - ba.
Now, the wife, well, I have no idea how she says it, not brave enough to ask just now either, but it is nothing alike my way, and she is the 1 who can speak better english plus other European languages etc etc, so therefore I must be wrong. After all, wonce I couldn't spel Machanik, now I ar won.... ;D
But.....
I recon I got this 1 spot on.
Thoughts?
You fool, never disagree with swmbo, you'll never win!
Even if you win, you lose.
It is clearly the way your wife say's it... ;D
Agree with scarps.
Eventually you will end up pronouncing it, "What - ev - er - dear". ;D
Tie her up to the clothes line and hose her until she agrees your right
Reckon you have a hard time of it, How do you reckon some international travelers would go .
QUOTE: " I would like to point out the fact that Australia has the most bizarre and unpronounceable names for roads and towns because they use Aboriginal names. For example, we had a heck of a time trying to properly pronounce "Biddaddaba". It's very difficult, just try it. "
From a Yanky blog ..
I have been told it's pronounced Be dadda ba (without the gaps)
but don't give a rats hairy butt if that's wrong.
I've always known it as your way Dave.
wow disagreeing with the mrs, now there's someone who doesn't enjoy there "quality time"
Most women pronounce it, "I'm correct or you'll never get sex again in this lifetime"
My hand hurts and has some whopper callouses on it. :'(

With the same cadence as Capalaba...i.e Capala ba(r), not Capal Aba, which is what my Victorian brain did the first time I saw the Capalaba Rod sign.
As I said to the squeeze ... "You Queenslander have funny name!" ;D ;D >:D
